Abstract This study uses a literature review to probe the prevalence and trends of induced abortions among unmarried women since 1980s. Premarital pregnancy has become more common, this pushed premarital abortion rate still higher. With remaining markedly high in China, percentage who have experienced risen steadily with passage time. Not only increased China on whole, but there is evidence that some young had multiple abortions. prevalent urban areas migrants less-educated women. The huge number not signifies palpable, unmet need for contraceptives, also represents an immense unrealized births.
